


Canuck Place recognizes seven dedicated volunteers for their valued contributions
Recently Canuck Place Children's Hospice Volunteers & Staff came together to honour the outstanding work and dedication of our volunteers.
The following individuals were recognized for their contributions in achieving 1,000 hours of service to the organization:
• Avria Shier – Volunteer Leadership Team member / Family & Bereavement Volunteer serving since 2000
• Jean Havens – Reception volunteer with Canuck Place since 1996
• Jack & Lynette Short – husband & wife team and members of the Garden Crew since 2005
• Roy Hedberg – long-time Computer Maintenance volunteer for school room & library computers began his service in 1993
• Jacqueline Coinner – Garden Crew volunteer who has been with the Hospice since 1994 -- a year prior to its opening
• Ruth Akune – Family Volunteer from the original training group in November 1995
Each received an engraved gold lapel pin with the Canuck Place logo, as presented by their peers from the Volunteer Leadership Team.
On behalf of the children & families, we Thank You for the hours of service you (and the entire volunteer team) provide & we appreciate your continued dedication to the Hospice!
