Medical Care

Canuck Place's Medical Team consists of physicians with specialty training in pediatrics and palliative medicine

The physicians are in the Hospice each day to assess patients and meet with families. They are members of the medical staff at Children's & Women's Health Centre of BC, providing care when children are in BC's Children's Hospital or the Special Care Nursery at BC Women's Hospital. 

Additionally, the physicians are available for telephone and video-conference consultation to support clinicians and families anywhere in the province. One member of the Canuck Place Medical Team is always on-call 24 hours a day.

The physicians are members of the Department of Pediatrics and the Division of Palliative Medicine, Department of Family Practice, of the University of British Columbia. They are active in research, knowledge dissemination, teaching to medical students, residents, fellows and other physicians, and in policy development internationally.
