The Canuck Place team invites you to explore our Bereavement Community Gathering offerings

These gatherings are intended for families after the loss of a child who was cared for by Canuck Place

We recognize that the loss of a child affects everyone in the family. As part of our bereavement care, we offer various ways for families to connect with each other. We understand that being together in a compassionate community is essential, along with opportunities to begin to understand the nature of grief and process the complex, unique experience with peer support.

Through Our Lens: A film and music-making workshop for Bereaved Siblings (Fraser Valley)

Join us for a ‘spring break camp’ – Canuck Place style! Over the course of four days, participants will work together to create a short film project with a soundtrack that captures important themes in their shared experience as bereaved siblings. The final Saturday afternoon will culminate in a screening to parents and other family members, who will also have an opportunity to get in on the creativity and self-expression. (No spoilers here, though!)

Date: Wednesday, March 26 to Saturday, March 29

Time: Wednesday-Friday: 10-3:30 p.m., Saturday March 29: 1-4 p.m. (exact timing to be confirmed)

Location: Canuck Place Abbotsford – Dave Lede House | 32772 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC

Suggested Age Group: Siblings aged 9-14 years old

RSVP Deadline: January 31, 2025

*If your child is outside of this age range and is interested in attending, please let us know so we can discuss your child’s participation.
